WE ARE GO!!!  So gang, after a rainy weekend, we are happy to announce that we've a definite GO for the 8th Annual Whistler Mountain Hike and Picnic.  With hot weather and sunny skies coming our way what better time to head for the cool fresh air of Whistler Mountain? and hopefully find fields of beautiful blooming flowers and refreshing Alpine lakes!

Saturday August 14th! and it's all sunshine baby!  So we are a GO! here is the plan...head up to Whistler Village, park in the free day lots (4,5 or 6)... we plan to leave right at 10 am sharp, so make sure your at  the Whistler Village Gondola by 9:30-9:45 am.  The gondola trip is free if you renewed your Edge card (don't forget it!) and we can get 25% off guest tickets too!  From there, we head to Blackcomb, take the chair up, WIZ over on the Peak2Peak...and start our trek (the top of Whistler Mountain @ 10:45am is a good place to catch up with us if you missed us in the village).  We take the Peak Chair and start our adventure on the High Note Trail to have lunch at the Flute Peak overlooking Chekamus Lake, with our return trip through Symphony, Harmony and back to the Roundhouse.  Fingers crossed for some beautiful fields of Alpine flowers in bloom. Stuff to bring: hiking or running shoes-NO flip flops, daypack, picnic lunch, water, sunscreen, camera, bathing suit (if you plan an alpine swim)  bubbles(?). We plan on being back by approx 4pm..for a refreshing cocktail at Blacks Pub...Questions?  See you there!!

WHERE: Meet at Whistler Village at the base of the Whistler Gondola

TIME:     10 am sharp

PARKING:    In case you have not heard, Whistlers Day lots 1,2,3 are now pay parking, BUT lots 4,5 are still free... save yourself $12.

COST: Free, if you have renewed your Whistler Edge Card, or have a Seasons Pass! We are able to get 25% for all guests ($33) that may want to join us, so DONT get you ticket directly if you would like to save a few more dollars!

WHAT TO BRING:   STURDY SHOES, no flip flops or sandals (lots of dirt/pebbles), water, sunscreen, water, camera, water, picnic lunch, water, back pack, water, hat(?) did we mention water?

WEATHER:  This is sun is shining event (although it wasn't last year...LOL)  watch for updates on www.skiout.com if the weather is "iffy".  On the very slight chance the weather is not co-operating, the hike will be rescheduled to the following weekend.

SNOW:     OK, so here is the scoop...there is still a lot of snow up there right now...and in fact the high note trail is not yet open, however, we spoke to Whistler Blackcomb and they are hoping to have it open this weekend...  We will send out an email next week, but check out www.skiout.com for updates.
